What People Are Saying
Katrin Müller
Chiang Mai, Germany/TH
"The workshop gave us a way to talk about things we had been avoiding for months. I cannot say it was easy, but the structure helped enormously. Both of us felt heard, which had not happened in our earlier attempts to discuss things directly."
Dialogue Workshop — June 2025
James Calloway
Chiang Mai, UK/TH
"I used the planning toolkit on my own, before my wife and I had agreed to engage formally. It helped me get my own thinking straight first, which made our subsequent conversations much more productive. The worksheets are well-designed and genuinely practical."
Fair Planning Toolkit — June 2025
Nattaya Phongphan
Chiang Mai, Thailand
"I enrolled in the full series after a friend recommended Concordo. I was nervous about what it would involve, but the pace was calm throughout. By the end I had a complete picture of our household situation and a proper understanding of what the next steps would involve. I went to my lawyer's first meeting feeling genuinely ready."
Full Preparation Series — May 2025
Romain Seguret
Chiang Mai, France/TH
"What I appreciated most was that Concordo does exactly what it says it does. There was no pressure to take more or spend more. The workshop was one day, it covered what was promised, and we left with skills we have continued to use."
Dialogue Workshop — June 2025
Amanda Walsh
Chiang Mai, Australia/TH
"The toolkit is genuinely useful. I worked through it across about two weeks, and it surfaced a number of things I had not thought to address. The document checklist in particular saved me a significant amount of time when we eventually met with a professional."
Fair Planning Toolkit — May 2025
Takeshi Kojima
Chiang Mai, Japan/TH
"We did the full series. It took about six weeks from first session to last, and by the end both of us had a shared vocabulary for our situation that we simply did not have before. The process overview sessions were particularly valuable — I had no idea what was involved until those sessions."
Full Preparation Series — June 2025
How Preparation Made a Difference
Three composites drawn from participant experiences. Names and identifying details have been changed.
The Challenge
A mixed-nationality couple had decided to separate but could not agree on how to structure their initial conversations. Each felt the other was approaching things adversarially. They had postponed engaging professionally for over three months.
The Resource
They attended the Respectful Dialogue Workshop together. Neither had any experience with structured communication formats. The facilitator maintained a balanced, non-directive approach throughout the day.
The Outcome
Within two weeks of the workshop, they had held three additional conversations at home without facilitator support. They engaged a lawyer the following month, reporting that the first consultation was "significantly less tense" than they had expected.
"We stopped trying to win the conversation and started trying to understand each other's position. That shift happened at the workshop." — Workshop participant, Chiang Mai
The Challenge
A single person going through separation had no clear picture of their household's financial arrangements. Documents were scattered, and they felt unprepared to engage professionally without first knowing what information they had and what was missing.
The Resource
They used the Fair Planning Toolkit over three weeks, working through it independently. The document checklist and household inventory worksheet were the sections they found most useful.
The Outcome
By the time they met with a professional, they had a complete document folder, a clear list of shared assets, and a written summary of their arrangements. Their advisor noted the preparation had halved the time usually needed for an initial consultation.
"I felt organised for the first time since this started. That changed how I felt going into every meeting." — Toolkit participant, Chiang Mai
The Challenge
A family with children had been told by an acquaintance that the Thai legal process would be straightforward. When they began researching, they realised they had no clear understanding of how things actually worked or what they needed to prepare.
The Resource
They enrolled in the Full Preparation Series. Over six weeks, they worked through communication exercises, completed the planning toolkit, and attended process overview sessions covering how family transitions are generally handled in Thailand.
The Outcome
They arrived at their first professional appointment with organised documents, a shared understanding of their situation, and realistic expectations about the process. Their legal consultation required only two sessions, rather than the four to five sessions typical for unprepared households in similar situations.
"We knew what to expect. That sounds small, but it made everything less frightening." — Preparation Series participant, Chiang Mai
